You know those times when it feels like we are going in the right direction and things flow smoothly in our lives and then all of a sudden we begin to feel like we are going in reverse or backward? It can make us feel discouraged and sometimes angry. It seems like no matter how many steps forward we take, it seems we take several steps back. The one thing we seem to miss is just because it looks or feels like we are going in reverse or backward doesn’t mean we always are. Many times it is actually God pulling back the arrow in the string of a bow so it can be released and accelerated to hit its mark with power. We are actually that arrow being pulled back and it isn’t because we are going in reverse or taking steps backward, it is because God is about to accelerate us into good things by His power. We are actually participating in our promotion or Him pushing us through something to get us to greater things.
This can happen in our dream life as well. We go through or deal with something in our lives and we feel we are done with that, but later dreams come to us about the same issue all over again. It may not be what we think but instead a drawing back to release us completely from it or push us through it to the other side. Almost as if God say’s “now, watch this!” An arrow can symbolize overcoming something as it soars over things and even piercing through something to hit the mark. So, don’t dismiss these dreams nor feel discouraged by them. Ask God about them with open possibilities in your heart and mind that we may very well be on our way to hitting the “bulls-eye” God has planned for us.
